I'm the Founder and CEO of Fareness, a travel search website and mobile app that lets consumers plan and book trips on the cheapest dates and to the most inspiring destinations at a glance. I'm also an angel investor and advisor. I focus on startups that are building big-market opportunities that matter and make life better, in Internet, travel, mobile, SaaS, consumer products, and clean tech.
Previously, I founded ResellerRatings to help consumers discover the best places to shop. ResellerRatings was bootstrapped, and I sold the business twice, the first sale at age 21, for $4M. I had an opportunity to reacquire ResellerRatings for $32k and I built it into a $6M/year recurrent revenue SaaS business. I sold the business again, this time to Answers.com in 2012, for $34M as the sole shareholder with no debt.
Some of my investments include Compology, which makes waste hauling more efficient by eliminating empty pickups, and HandUp, a San Francisco based direct giving platform that ensures donations are used as intended. I'm also a board member and financial supporter of the Pixie Project in Portland, which finds homes for animals and provides low cost medical care.
